GREG DOLL

FIELD AMBASSADOR

Greg Doll has witnessed firsthand the power and effectiveness of sports-centered ministry. As a football player for the University of Kentucky from 1984-87, he was very active in UK’s Fellowship of Christian Athletes, serving as the Vice President of the group his junior year. His years as a Wildcat were some of the most formative in his spiritual life, including a defining moment as an athlete and person.

“I was a freshman at UK when my teammates shared a story with me from the final game of the previous season. At the end of the game against the University of Tennessee, Reggie White kneeled down on the fifty-yard line with players from both teams and led a prayer. I was in awe of the fact you could be an elite athlete and that devoted to God. As sports continue to grow in our culture, I’m just astounded at their reach and influence. I see the growing potential for FCA, and I can’t think of any other ministry I’d rather give myself to than this ministry.”

Greg went on to devote his life to Christ-centered service. He attended Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and graduated with a Masters in Divinity in 1999. He was ordained in the Presbyterian Church (USA) and has served as the pastor of parishes in North Carolina, Ohio and Connecticut. Since 2005 he has also led regular study tours to Israel.

Greg has devoted much of his free time to serving his local community as a coach of more than 35 youth teams. He also sits on the Board of Directors for the local Little League. His heart for his community and the leaders in it, especially coaches, is evident. “I feel a strong call to serve this community, particular through coaching and serving the coaches. If we can minister to these coaches and they can, in turn, minister to the kids, it’s exciting to think of the kind of impact that can happen in this community for Jesus Christ.”

Greg is also the Chaplain for the New York City Football Club and a regular guest chapel speaker for the NY Giants. Greg is a Special Advisor to the Darien High School Varsity Football Team and sits on the Board of Directors for the Darien Little League. He serves as the Fleet Chaplain for the Stamford Yacht Club and also co-hosts a national radio show called the “Rabbi and the Reverend”. Greg and his wife, Kimberly, have three children: Eliot, Amelia, and Simeon. They reside in Darien, Connecticut with their two faithful dogs, Moses and Abraham.
