GARY MORELLO
FIELD AMBASSADOR
Pastor and coach Gary Morello has just become a triple threat as he joins FCA staff. “FCA is an organization that talks about everything that I am as a coach and a pastor. Coaches have such an impact on kids, and FCA’s intentionality to reach the hearts of coaches and young people as a different presence in the sports world, is about everything that I am as both a pastor and a coach,” he said.
Morello’s passion to help people find purpose through the life and teachings of Jesus Christ, coupled with his athletic background and love for health and fitness, make him a great fit for serving FCA in Fairfield County. “This ministry is really about Matthew 28 — our job as followers of Christ is to help people develop relationships with the Lord, and we can be living examples of the gospel,” he said.
Currently, Morello serves as Associate Pastor of Noroton Presbyterian Church, in Darien. Prior, he was the Executive Assistant to the CEO of Cerebral Palsy of Westchester. He also served as Director of Programs for Crossing Thresholds, which builds schools in the Kibera Slum of Nairobi, Kenya. Morello received a B.S. in Business Management from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) and earned his M.Div. at New York Theological Seminary.
A Westchester County native, Morello captained his varsity football and baseball teams while attending White Plains High School where he was Section I A South All League Award recipient and Scholar Athlete Award recipient. He also played football during his years at RPI. Currently, in addition to serving as Assistant Coach to Darien High School’s football team, he is also a Certified Indoor Cycling Instructor.
He and his wife Erica, a registered nurse who works for a local medical practice, reside in Darien, CT, where Morello is active in leading the newly formed FCA huddles. His hobbies including praying, meditating, reading, his French bulldog, cleaning for his wife, working out, preaching and long walks.
